Tangle Creek

This creek marks the border of my property where it meanders through the woods.  It's easiest to access in the winter.  You never know what you might find there, salamanders, deer, a coyote or, earlier in the season, a salmon carcass.  I've seen them up this far to spawn.  Not much water this year, it's been a relatively dry winter.

Not such a bummer

10x10" original acrylic
Meet Clark Kent.  Clark is a "bummer" lamb which means he's being hand raised on a bottle because his real mom is unable to nurse him.  It's not really such a bummer for his surrogate mom.... although, like most newborns he is quite demanding!

Boysenberry

So, this was the dog I was supposed to paint the other day.  If you mess up the drawing at the very start, you never know who will show up... fortunately, this time ms. Boyenberry decided it was her turn.  I'm never really sure who is in charge here, I just show up with brushes & paint.

Old Soul

This doesn't look like the dog I was supposed to paint, someone else sneaked in when I wasn't paying attention... but I like him anyway.  Hound dogs so often have those soulful eyes and, along with their independent "don't bother me, I'm busy with important work" attitudes, I do believe an old soul may indeed live within. See DailyPaintWorks for purchase info.

Morning Fog

original acrylic landscape, see DPW for sales information
I like fog.  Especially if I'm walking and not driving in it.  Here's an attempt to paint it, not a particularly easy effect to capture in acrylic, and even harder to photograph the effort.  Disclaimers notwithstanding, as sketches go, it's a fair representation of the day yesterday.   (and who knew that "notwithstanding" is really a word!)
