The BABC (Barely Adequate Boating Club) has just returned from another adventure to the kayakers paradise of Haida Gwaii (aka. the Queen Charlotte Islands)  I'll be taking you along with me over the next few weeks, so stay tuned.........

Ninstints sketch

I might as well show you where we are going..... this watercolor sketch is from our last visit to the QCI eight years ago, the village of Ninstints and remaining totem poles from the water.  

Tall Ship on the Horizon

This sail boat looked tall from the level of my kayak!  It would be seagull sized next to the tall ships arriving in Tacoma for a big celebration this week.  I'm back painting with water media (gouache is a more opaque version of watercolor paint) in preparation for our kayak trip north to the Queen Charlotte Islands.  I won't have room to pack around oil paints but a little watercolor in the sketchbook is always nice.
