Courage

Lots of commissions lately.  Courage is no longer here but his owners were happy to see him come to life in paint.  My reference for this was a bit of a challenge, taken through a window and I'm afraid that I fussed a bit more than I should have.  I like the one I just finished better, I'll photograph it tomorrow.  That one hasn't passed the owner test yet though.  Even if you like the painting, you never really know until you get feedback whether you've passed the final or not.

This is my faceless, every girl, in all her horse crazy glory!  Dream or reality, if you recognize yourself, go ahead and give a little "ya hooo!".  I might need to make her a little less "blank" but it definitely was me.  Maybe it still is.  In my dreams the joy of free flight without wings never gets old or goes away.   ;)

Niche

One more (not so) still life from the ocean.  This time below the tide line.  One of my favorite positions... buns up poking about in tide pools.  The texture and diversity you find when this other world, between land and sea, is revealed is no less than incredible.  Here you see blue mussels, acorn and thatched barnacles and gooseneck barnacles and a little sea lettuce in the crevices.
