This sail boat looked tall from the level of my kayak! It would be seagull sized next to the tall ships arriving in Tacoma for a big celebration this week. I'm back painting with water media (gouache is a more opaque version of watercolor paint) in preparation for our kayak trip north to the Queen Charlotte Islands. I won't have room to pack around oil paints but a little watercolor in the sketchbook is always nice.

Tall Ship on the Horizon
This sail boat looked tall from the level of my kayak! It would be seagull sized next to the tall ships arriving in Tacoma for a big celebration this week. I'm back painting with water media (gouache is a more opaque version of watercolor paint) in preparation for our kayak trip north to the Queen Charlotte Islands.
