Nice Spread

The days are getting longer and the babies are popping out all over, even if the temperature still says winter!

Sketchbook page

Since I seem to be so slow at getting paintings to post, here is another sample of one of my sketchbook pages.  This page demonstrates what I call "photo-collage" where you start with a photo and then expand on it with paint.  It's great fun to do and especially to introduce to people who claim that they can't (draw, paint, do art etc. etc.)  Yes, you can..... you may not want to, but you certainly are capable, everyone is.  No excuses, get out, go sketching.  :-}

Bev & Mouse work it out

Here's Beverly, a terrific watercolor and silk painter, with her feline neck warmer and critic, Mouse.  I like the layering and washy effects you can get with acrylic but I sure like oil better for the paint texture and flow.  Some experimenting with a mix of the two maybe the next challenge.

Tuggers

Hello again after a rather long absence.  I've discovered that I'm really not a painting a day kind of person after all.   Although I admit the effort was a good learning experience, I'm going to aim for a more realistic target of 2 to 3 images a week.  These two tug-monsters know how to have fun and my goal here was to capture the energy and body language of their game.

A wintery spring time

This is my booth for the local Spring Fling event held last weekend.  It was fun to come out from winter with a festive gathering (although it was darn cold and we are still getting snow)  Which brings me to hats.... they are definitely the popular item of late, so here are a few more.  For anyone pining for more paintings (bless you!)  I promise the next post will be painted.

Madd Hatter

I know, I know.... I am the madd hatter!  It must be spring fever in spite of frequent threats of snow.  I've sold 5 or 6 hats though with orders pending, so what else can I do?  I'll be back to painting soon!

I have also been working on a new website though.  It is temporarily posted at http://web.me.com/robinpeterson  until I get it transferred to my FernWoodStudio domain.  I am very excited because I do not know html and am not a web designer but I made it myself with Mac's iweb, and I think it looks good.  The program is remarkably flexible for the drag and drop, user friendly type that it is.  Getting it connected with my current domain host appears be the biggest frustration of all.  I will prevail.

mosquito impersonation by Milissa

Here is my niece messing around, she felt that a mosquito impersonation wearing a hat from the Arctic Hat Project was appropriate.  I just liked messing with the background in Photoshop.  Otherwise I've made a new website.... check it out.   http://web.me/robinpeterson
